HP Envy vs HP Elitebook | 2024 Review

As a tech enthusiast and avid user of quite a few laptops over the years, I think I've finally settled on two of my favorite HP models: the HP Elitebook and the HP Envy.

The HP Elitebook, a staple in the business laptop arena, caught my attention with its sleek design and portability, promising a perfect balance for professionals and students alike. However, the HP Envy, with its expansive display and robust performance, I think is an ideal laptop for power users and creative professionals.

HP Elitebook Review

  1. Design and Build Quality: The HP Elitebook boasts a sleek, professional look that feels durable and well-built. It's lightweight and portable, making it ideal for on-the-go use. Grade: A

  2. Performance: Equipped with a 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 16 GB DDR4 RAM, the Elitebook handles everyday tasks with ease. While it's not the most powerful in the market, it's more than adequate for typical business applications. Grade: B+

  3. Display: The 15.6-inch screen with a 1920x1080 resolution offers crisp and clear visuals, though it lacks the vibrancy of higher-end displays. It's suitable for general use but might not satisfy those with more intensive graphic needs. Grade: B

  4. Storage: With a 1 TB SSD, the Elitebook provides ample space for documents, applications, and media files, along with quick boot and load times. Grade: A-

  5. Battery Life: The battery life is impressive, easily lasting through a full workday on a single charge under moderate usage. Grade: A

  6. Overall Experience: The Elitebook is a solid, reliable laptop for business professionals and students. It balances performance with portability effectively. Grade: A-

HP Envy 17 Review

  1. Design and Build Quality: The HP Envy has an elegant design with a larger footprint, owing to its 17.3-inch screen. It feels premium, but the size can be a bit cumbersome for travel. Grade: B+

  2. Performance: The 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and 64GB SDRAM make the Envy 17 a powerhouse. It breezes through intensive applications and multitasking, making it ideal for power users. Grade: A

  3. Display: The 17.3-inch FHD display is a standout feature. It provides ample workspace and is great for media consumption and creative work. Grade: A

  4. Storage: The massive 2TB SSD is a dream for storing large files and ensures swift performance. Grade: A+

  5. Battery Life: Given its powerful specs, the battery life is decent but doesn't match the Elitebook's endurance. Grade: B

  6. Overall Experience: The Envy 17 is perfect for users who need high performance and a large screen. It's more of a desktop replacement than a travel-friendly laptop. Grade: A-
